On the side lines of Cairo ICT 2019, Huawei signs fiveMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreements with Suez University, 6 October University, Nahda University, Canadian International Collage, and El Shorouk Academy to join the iTB “ICT Talent Bank” and deploy Huawei ICT Academy.
 
Huawei ICT Academy is part of the Huawei Talent Pool ITB project. As of December 2019, Huawei has established 36 Huawei ICT academies in Egypt, with more than 1500 Egyptian university students participating in Huawei training. In the Huawei ICT Talent Competition in 2019, more than 8600 college students from local universities in Egypt participated in the competition. In the Huawei Global ICT Skill Competition, Egyptian students won the second prize in the cloud race track.
     
Vincent Sun, Huawei Egypt CEO, stated: “Huawei entered the Egyptian market in 1999. This year is the 20th year of Huawei in Egypt. Huawei focuses on the Egyptian government's requirements in the ICT field and actively participates in Egypt's 4G network construction and national broadband acceleration projects. Huawei's slogan in Egypt is (In Egypt, For Egypt),” Based on Huawei's technological leadership and experience in the global information and communications field, Huawei will strive to cultivate local youth talent in Egypt, continuously build the ICT talent pool in Egypt, and build the regional competitiveness of young ICT talent in Egypt.
     
Prof. Dr. Yasser Amoon, Dean of Computer Science Faculty, signed on behalf of Prof. Dr. Elsayed Abdel-Azim El-Sharkawy, President of Suez University and he stated: “Our agreement with Huawei today to establish a Huawei ICT Academy at Suez University is very strategic. It proves that there are real collaboration between the university and the companies in Egypt to empower the youth to be ready for the employment market. The students have been hearing about Huawei’s academy from their friends and from various media channels and that made them search and read about it as they are eager to learn about everything new. The capabilities and training that Huawei Academy provides is a great added value for the students. And I recommend all students to join Huawei Academy and get their training as that will give them great opportunity to know and use the latest global technologies,”
   
The Huawei Talent Pool ITB project is Huawei's flagship youth ICT capability development project and CSR project in Egypt. The project was launched in 2019. The goal is to establish a 100 Huawei ICT Academy in Egypt within three years, to train 200 professional lecturers, to provide 4000 people with Huawei's ICT professional certification, and to train 12000 outstanding young ICT talent.
