As part of his participation in World Radio-communication Conference 2019 (WRC-19), Mr.Moctar Yedaly, Head of Information & Society of the African Union, visited Huawei’s Egypt OpenLab. Cairo OpenLab represents the 8th OpenLab targeting enterprise
Customers, is located in Egypt to serve and influence all of Northern Africa[1]
 
During the visit, Experts presented to Mr.Moctar Yedaly the innovative topics that Cairo OpenLab focuses on which are smart grid, smart city, smart government and smart education. The business operates through four functional centers: Partner development center, solution joint innovation center, talent training and certification center, and industry experience center.
 
Mr. Moctar Yedaly, Head of Information & Society of the African Union, stated "Cairo OpenLab plays a crucial role in digitally transforming several African countries through its global expertise, talents, technologies, and customer business successes. I am firm believer that Huawei’s Cairo OpenLab contributes to industry ICT ecosystem development locally and in Africa,”  
 
Yedaly also discussed how the digital transformation can empower African nations and its societies. He also shared his thoughts and ideas about integrating the African nations through the use of the latest technologies and innovations.
 
Vincent Sun, Huawei’s Egypt CEO stated “We were honored by Mr. Moctar Yedaly visit to Huawei’s Cairo OpenLab. Huawei is committed to the Egyptian market and Africa. We are keen to support the African nations with its digital transformation vision. And to start this digital transformation plan, Huawei had invested in empowering the youth of those nations through Huawei ICT competition and other strategic programs,”
