Forbes and Statista cull their annual list of the “World’s Best Employers”
To create their ranking of the World’s Best Employers, Forbes partnered with Statista to cull their annual list of the world’s 2,000 largest public companies based on 1.4 million employment recommendations sourced from a global poll and regional surveys. Respondents around the globe were asked to rate their own employer and the likelihood that they would recommend this employer to a friend or family member.
Alphabet took the top spot for the third year in a row, followed by competitor Microsoft in second place. Open-source software provider Red Hat made its debut at No. 3, followed by Apple at No. 4. German software giant SAP climbed 43 spots to claim fifth place. While the top spots on this year’s Best Employers list are dominated by tech companies, the finance and banking industry was the best-represented on the list as a whole. Fifty-two regional banks made the top 500, including Switzerland’s BanqueCantonaleVaudoise at No. 30, Egypt’s Commercial International Bank at 90 and India’s HDFC Bank at No. 119.
