join the Global Trade Matters International Dialogue on Climate Neutrality in Cairo next week
The Ambassadors of Ireland, Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore will join a lineup of over 20 distinguished speakers and experts at the first of the Global Trade Matters International Dialogue on Climate Neutrality Series of meetings which will be held in Cairo on the 25th of November 2019.
The unique one day gathering will bring together thought leaders, academics, international experts, senior diplomats, senior business executives and key government representatives to engage in an open dialogue on the importance of Climate Neutrality and how key stakeholders can work together towards Vision 2050.
According to Mr. Ashraf Mohamed Naguib, the Chief Executive Officer at Global Trade Matters “The “Global Trade Matters International Dialogue on Climate Neutrality” will act as a platform for sharing the challenges, opportunities, experiences and new ideas on how to transform into a carbon free global society, while exploring implementation policies, strategies and initiatives undertaken by different countries respectively to achieve the global aspiration for Vision 2050.”
“While the world at large areboth culprits and victims of climate change, Egypt remains one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, with impacts ranging from water shortages and drought to reduced crop yield, increased desertification, rising sea levels, increasing population and losses in resources.” said Naguib.
“This is the first of many meeting we are planning throughout 2020 addressing Climate Neutrality,” said Dr. Esmat Kamel Executive Director of Global Trade Matters. “This first meeting will explore the role of International Cooperation (Governments, Agencies, Organizations) in providing sustainable support through financial flows, capacity building, and technology transfer to developing countries working towards carbon neutrality and will also highlight the importance of the private sector’s commitment to invest in technologies and practices that reduce a company’s footprint in the journey towards carbon neutrality.”
An estimated seventy organizations will be attending the International Dialogue on Climate Neutrality on the 25th of November in the heart of Cairo, one of the world’s oldest, largest and most populated cities.
