Crédit Agricole Egypt organizes breast cancer awareness session for its female employees
Crédit Agricole Egypt Bank has organized an awareness session for its female employees on breast cancer and ways to prevent it The session is part of the Bank’s efforts to protect the health of its employees and to create a distinctive work environment to increase their productivity and as part of Crédit Agricole Bank’s strategy to achieve leadership in sustainability based on innovation, to bolster the bank’s status and increase clients’ satisfaction and employees’ engagement, in addition to serving the community and protecting the environment.
The session, which witnessed a high attendance by the bank’s female employees, aimed to spread awareness on the dangers of giving in to psychological pressures and how this impacts the general health, making one an easy prey to diseases, especially breast cancer, as well as demonstrating the steps that should be followed to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The session was divided into three parts to cover the different aspects of the disease; the first part illustrated the simple practical methods to relieve stress through teaching the attendees some yoga moves and breathing techniques, while the second part of the session focused on providing medical information on the nature of breast cancer disease, how to identify its symptoms, and changes to women in their general appearances that can be an indication of having the disease. The session also stressed the importance of routine checkups through performing self-examination and getting X-rays, with the third part presenting the experience of a woman who was able to overcome the disease through treatment, healthy food, and some exercises.
Crédit Agricole Egypt’s keenness to hold awareness sessions for its employees on various health topics is part of Crédit Agricole Group’s strategy of client satisfaction of the services it provides, which can only be achieved through creating a productive and healthy work environment for its employees and is reflected on the increase in work productivity and contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development which include the physical wellbeing of individuals and the growth of productivity in the workplace.
The bank’s initiative aims to spread awareness among female workers on the importance of taking care of one’s general health and how this can limit the spread of diseases, especially malignant diseases such as breast cancer as reports by the World Health Organization have shown that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, representing 16% of all cases of cancer. Thereby Crédit Agricole Egypt has taken a special interest in organizing a program that aims to better the general health of its workers through a number of steps and programs that include awareness and health-focused sessions to eliminate psychological pressures and stress.
It is important to note that Crédit Agricole Egypt contributes to supporting the health sector and the different medical institutions in Egypt through a number of initiatives by the Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development, as well as through the bank's mobile application, Banki Mobile, which allows the bank’s clients to donate to cancer patients in an easy and secure manner.
