Egypt and Malaysia aim to reach US$1 billion in bilateral trade in 2019
The Embassy of Malaysia in Egypt announces an official trade mission led by the Malaysia External Trade Development Cooperation (MATRADE) which will be visiting Egypt between the 21st and 25th of October 2019.
MATRADE in partnership with the Asia Egypt Business Association (AEBA), the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association, the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) well be holding the MALAYSIA-EGYPT INVESTMENT FORUM which will be held on Wednesday the 23rd of October at the and which will include fifteen Malaysian companies working in four main sectors: Construction and Construction Related Products and Machinery, Renewable Energy, Food and Beverage, Chemicals and Chemical Products.
The forum will act as a networking platform offering attending individuals and organizations from both countries the opportunity to seek out new partnerships and explore new avenues for cooperation.
Both Egypt and Malaysia are keen to revitalize a trade relationship which has been dormant for some time with an aim to reach US$1 billion in bilateral trade in 2019.
The Malaysia Egypt Business Forum with be inaugurated by His Excellency Mohd Haniff Abd Rahman, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Egypt, and Mr. Mr. Yusram Ysup - Trade Commissioner – Consulate General Malaysia – MATRADE Jeddah will be presenting new bilateral opportunities for the private sector. Dr. Eng. Sherif El-Gabaly Chairman of the Mlaysia Egypt Business Council will also give keynote remarks and will a chair an open discussion session with Mr. Mohamed Youssef – Egyptian Business Association, Mr. Sameh Zaki – Cairo Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Karim Helal – Asia Egypt Business Association sharing the efforts of their respective organizations in enhancing bilateral trade and investment between both countries.
