BASF, the world’s leading chemical company headquartered in Germany, collaborated with INJAZ Egypt to bring the INJAZ “Innovation Camp” program to students from public universities across Egypt.
 
The “Innovation Camp” program aims at equipping young people with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to create and refine entrepreneurial ideas and to prepare them for the job market.
 
Specifically designed for students with a background in pharmaceutical studies and business, the students attended a series of workshops which focused on learning the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovation skills and the basic tools needed to start a business. The program also included an overview of BASF’s solutions for the pharmaceutical industry and discussions around innovation, speed-to-market, and cost-effectiveness for pharmaceutical companies.
 
The program is in line with BASF’s support to young people around the world to start their professional careers in the best way possible and to prepare them for their future jobs. Speaking at the program, Xavier Verfaillie, BASF’s managing director for BASF Egypt, Sudan and the Levant said: “We are extremely proud to partner with INJAZ Egypt on this entrepreneurship development program in Egypt. Empowering young people in Egypt and around the world is a priority for BASF. It is a source of great pride that we are helping to develop the ideas of Egypt’s future entrepreneurs.”
 
To the participating students, Xavier said: “Keeping an open mind, being creative problem solvers and believing in our hearts, just as much as our heads, will carry you all far”.
 
Marwa Morsy, INJAZ Egypt’s managing director added “We are very happy with our partnership with BASF for the second year now and honored to have them among us to share their professional experience and empower our Egyptian youth to become skillful employees in the workforce and leading entrepreneurs.
